Both games are developed by Sucker Punch and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. inFamous: First Light, a standalone expansion, came out several months later on August 26, 2014. Fans will buy such a sequel in droves because it’s the same old formula they love, with a fresh coat of paint that makes it new and exciting. A new Infamous title would incorporate all of these things, updating it in every way imaginable. Since then, open-world games, graphics, and gameplay mechanics have completely evolved. The open world sandbox locations that made up Infamous and Infamous 2 totally redefined gaming during the era of the PlayStation 3.
Now that the samurai epic is behind them, there are several reasons why a return to Infamous makes sense and is highly likely. The company recently released Ghosts of Tsushima , which turned out to be quite a masterpiece of a game.
